IPL 2020: Chennai Super Kings Defeated Mumbai Indians by 5 wickets in first match

Finally after a long wait, the Indian Premier League 2020 (IPL), the biggest cricket extravaganza has started in the United Arab Emirates. The first has been played between the most hyped rivals CSK and MI in which CSK has defeated MI with 5 wickets.

The Chennai Super Kings Captain MS Dhoni won the toss and forced Mumbai Indians to bat first.

The batting start of Mumbai Indians was not that good, Rohit Sharma and De Kock failed to push the team at the start and Sharma got out after scoring just 12 runs. Piyush Chawla took his wicket. Later, De Kock got dismissed by Sam Curran. Faf de Plessis took great catches at the boundary and dismissed Saurabh Tiwary and Hardik Pandya.  Suryakumar Yadav (17) and Saurabh Tiwary (42) built a good partnership. At the end of the 20 overs, Mumbai Indians (MI) scored 162/9 and gave a target of 163 runs in 20 overs to Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

In the chasing race, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) lost both of their openers in the start of the innings. Faf du Plessis (58*) and Ambati Rayudu (71)  played responsible innings and built a big partnership to lead their team towards the victory. CSK achieved the target in the last over with the help of Sam Curran and Ravindra Jadeja. 

Ambati Rayudu is awarded man of the Match award for his magnificent 71 runs on just 48 deliveries. 

Super Striker of the Match award was given to Quinton de Kock.

Power Player of the Match award was given to Quinton de Kock.

GameChanger of the match award was given to Faf de Plessis for taking two exceptional catches at the boundary of Saurabh Tiwary and Hardik Pandya.
