Lasith Malinga is not available for IPL 2020, MI found Replacement
Indian Premier League Franchise Mumbai Indians (MI) has signed James Pattinson on the behalf of Sri Lankan pacer Lasith Malinga. Malinga has announced his unavailability for the upcoming IPL season 2020 on Wednesday. Aussie pacer will join MI camp in Abu Dhabi this weekend.
Suresh Raina Might Join the CSK Camp again.
Suresh Raina finally opened up on their decision of stepping out from IPL 2020 and cleared the air somewhat about his decision to leave the CSK camp all of a sudden. In an exclusive interview to Cricbuzz Raina denied any clash between him and Chennai Super Kings and refers to CSK owner N Srinivasan’s comments about him as a “father scolding his son”. The 33-year-old also told that he came back just for the sake of his family in the wake of the unfortunate incident that happened to them in Pathankot. Raina also gave a hint that he might end up returning to the IPL camp.
He also said that leaving CSK Camp was a tough decision for him because Chennai Super Kings is like his family and MS Dhoni is very important to him, there was no rift between him and CSK. He is still young and energetic and looking forward to playing the IPL for next 4 or 5 years.
BCCI announced Cred as IPL Official Partner
On Tuesday, Indian Board of Control of Cricket (BCCI) announced Bangalore based Credit Card Company Cred as their official partner for the upcoming IPL 2020 season in the United Arab Emirates.
Kane Williamson Shows Entanglement about Covid-19 Cases
Kane Williamson is feeling ‘little apprehension’ about CoronaVirus cases in IPL because he is about to fly to the United Arab Emirates. Williamson will join Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on September 4 from where he will begin his quarantine time.
“Obviously that’s bad news,” “You don’t want to hear anybody [has] Covid. I hear they are predominantly asymptomatic, so hopefully through another lockdown period, they can come through and we’ll be okay”. The 30 year old batsman told

Sharjah Stadium Prepares to Host IPL 2020 Matches
Sharjah Cricket Stadium girds up its loins to host matches of the cash rich league this year. The stadium is undergoing a makeover for IPL 2020. According to a Media release on Tuesday, Canopies are re-painted and Royal Suite and VIP Hospitality Boxes have been upgraded. Strict protocols will be followed in the commentary box and players will be provided special care in the pavilion and practice area.
Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Waleed Bukhatir talked about those protocols “ We are taking every possible precaution to ensure the safety of everyone from players support staff to franchise owners and it’s our key aim is to keep that bubble intact right through the tournament.”
IPL Franchises and Broadcasters Requests BCCI for Practice Matches before Tournament
As IPL T20 League 2020 is starting from September 19, IPL franchises and Broadcasters requested the Indian Board of Control of Cricket to allow some warm-up matches before the start of the actual tournament.
According to sources, BCCI is yet to confirm the request made by IPL franchises. But officials assured the franchises that they will consider this request seriously once the IPL 2020 schedule is ready.
IPL 2020 broadcast partner Star India is also in the favor of warm-up matches between the teams before the actual action begins on September 19.
If BCCI approves this request, the warm up matches can be played between 11th Sep to 16th Sep.
Warm up matches will be a good activity for the teams before the tournament as players have not played any cutthroat cricket since the CoronaVirus outbreak.
Except 13, All CSK staff and Team Tested Negative for Covid-19
Finally, Chennai Super Kings took a sigh of relief as all members of CSK contingent have come out tested negative in the latest test reports except for the 13 who tested positive Covid-19 early last week.
13 staff members of Chennai Super Kings including bowler Deepak Chahar and A batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad were tested positive for CoronaVirus earlier this week.
CSK CEO Viswanathan Stated “ All others, apart from the 13, have tested negative for Covid-19. They will have to undergo another test on Thursday, September 3. We are likely to start training on Friday, September 4,” Viswanathan said from Dubai where the team is based right now. “Deepak and Ruturaj will complete their 14-day quarantine and then join training after two negative tests as per protocol.”
All positive Covid-19 CSK members will be tested at the end of their quarantine period.
