IPL 2021 Cities: Clouds of uncertainty are hovering over IPL 2021 fate in India as Covid-19 situation is getting worse again in the country. If anything bad does not happen, the next edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) will be conducted in India itself and BCCI has shortlisted five cities to conduct the cash rich league. For Now, Indian Board of Control of Cricket has selected five cities for IPl 2021 namely Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Delhi. Mumbai is still the uncertain place because of pending permissions from the local state government.
As the travelling in this pandemic is not so easy, so to avoid most of travelling BCCI is also considering Caravan style of IPL 14th Edition this year. For Caravan Style, teams will be divided into two groups and each group will play a certain set of matches in the same cities before moving on to the next round of matches in other cities.
IPL 2021 Venue, Date and Timetable will be decided in the IPL Governing Council meeting which is scheduled to be held in the first week of March. This meeting will be conducted to clear all decisions regarding IPL Venue, Date and Schedule. The IPL Chairman Brijesh Patel will sit with BCCI President Sourav Gangulay and Secretary Jay Shah to take a decision on where IPL 2021 will be held.
However, BCCI has shortlisted five venues in India which shows that BCCI wants to conduct the mega event in India itself this year. BCCI is wavering whether the IPL 2021 should be held in India or in UAE. Due to increased cases of Covid-19 IPL 14 could have been shifted to UAE for the consecutive year.
BCCI Treasure Arun Dhumal has already given a hint that IPL can be shifted to UAE as we are in a dicey situation.
Next question for an IPL fan is what IPL 2021 Date: When will IPL 2021 begin?
It is being speculated that the IPL 2021 will start from April 11 but the BCCI is yet to confirm the starting date officially. BCCI will take the final decision after the ENG India Test series which is ending on March 8.
