Delhi Capitals got bad news today as their pacer Ishant Sharma got injured during practice sessions and is set to be sidelined for a significant amount of time.
The 32-year-old pacer got his back damaged before their IPL first game against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) during a practice session.
In the past, Ishant Sharma had numerous injuries. In January 2020, he was not able to play due to an ankle injury and a month later he came back to play a test against New Zealand before injuring the same ankle. These consistent injuries made his future doubtful in cricket.
That Test match against New Zealand was Ishant’s last test, after undergoing a rehab procedure at National Cricket Academy.
In the case of the unavailability of Ishant Sharma, Delhi Capitals has other replacement options like Harshal Patel, Mohit Sharma, and Avesh Khan.
