2013

MI and CSK played 4 matches in the 2013 IPL. 2 were league matches, one was a qualifier and one was the IPL final. League matches were won by Mumbai Indians. The qualifier match was won by CSK and in the final, which was played at Eden Gardens Kolkata, Mumbai Indians claimed their first IPL trophy by defeating CSK with 23 runs.

2014

IPL 2014 witnessed three matches between the rivals MI and CSK. Chennai Super Kings won all three matches against Mumbai Indians.

2015

In Indian Premier League 2015, both the teams have played 4 matches against each other including two league matches one qualifier and one final match. CSK won just one league match against MI. Mumbai Indians scored their 2nd IPL victory by defeating CSK by 41 runs at Eden Gardens Stadium Kolkata.

2016, 2017

In 2017 IPL, Chennai Super Kings got banned for two years due to betting activities. So, they did not play any match.

2018
