Mumbai Indians Playing XI Prediction

Without wasting time, Let’s take a quick look on Mumbai Indians (MI) Playing XI for  the first match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK)

  • Openers: Chris Lynn, Quinton de Kock
  • Middle Order: Rohit Sharma(c), Suryakumar Yadav
  • All-rounders– Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Kieron Pollard
  • Bowlers– Rahul Chahar, Dhawal Kulkarni, Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah

Opening Pair

For opening Pair, Chris Lynn and Quinton de Kock is a good choice. De Kock is the top performer for MI in IPL 2019 and scored 529 runs at the strike rate of 132.91. On the other hand, Chriss Lynn is in fantastic form since Big Bash League 2019 and ignoring him is a bad choice for Mumbai Indians (Mi). In his presence, Rohit Sharma can be expected to come one down.

Lynn has a strike rate of 140 in IPL and he can accelerate a team in the case of slow starts so along with de Kock, Lynn is a good option to consider for the opening pair.

Middle Order

For middle order combination. Skipper Rohit Sharma along with  Suryakumar Yadav is a good choice to consider. Hitman Sharma is a regular opener for Indian Cricket Team for about six years. He also opened for Mumbai Indians (MI) in the IPL 2019. But in the presence of Chris Lynn, Sharma might consider himself to come at No.3 slot to give Lynn a chance in order to score a big total.

Suryakumar Yadav performed well for Mumbai Indians and scored more than 400 runs in every IPL season so far while batting on No.4 or five positions. Yadav can perform great while batting anywhere in the batting order. The 30 year old can play spin and fast bowling equally well making him a good choice to bat at No.4 position.

For All-Rounders, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya and Kieron Pollard are the best Choices.

Hardik Pandya: Pandya will take a slow start as he is coming back from a surgery. He performed well for Mumbai Indians (MI) in IPL 2019 and proved his versatility by dismissing 14 players and scored 400 runs at a strike rate of 191.42. IPL 2020 season is a great chance for him to test his fitness.

Krunal Pandya: IPL 2019 was not a good season for Krunal Pandya as he scored only 183 runs at a strike rate of 122.0 and grabbed only 12 wickets. This is the perfect opportunity for him to prove his worth for Mumbai Indians.

Kieron Pollard: Pollard is a MUmbai Indians veteran and the central pillar of the team. The owners have faith in his all round abilities. He is not only an aggressive batsman but also a great fielder in the ground. He should be sent at No.5 or higher order.

For Bowling, MI should pick up these four Rahul Chahar, Dhawal Kulkarni, Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah

Rahul Chahar: 2020 IPL season is a great chance for young Leg Spinner to perform big by using all conditions in the UAE. UAE is considered to be the paradise for Spinners and Rahul can dominate the ground there. The 21 Year old played only T20I for India and he is looking for more opportunities that he will definitely get in this IPL season in UAE.

Dhawal Kulkarni: In IPL 2020 Auctions, Kulkarni was picked up by Mumbai Indians for  Rs 75 Lakh. He is a fast bowler who can perform well with the new ball. Also he is one of the few players who featured in the inaugural edition of Indian Premier League in 2008. With his ball swinging ability, Kulkarni would be a good addition in MI’s playing XI for IPL 2020.

Trent Boult: The 31 year old made his debut in IPL back in 2015. In IPL 2020 Auctions, he was traded to Mumbai Indians (MI) from Delhi Capitals (DC). Boult can swing a new ball in both the ways and MI can use him in powerplay. He can be used in starting and middle overs.

Jasprit Bumrah: Across all the formats, he is India’s No.1 bowler. Bumrah should be in all the matches of MI and he makes a huge difference for them. In 2019, IPL Bumrah got 19 wickets in 16 matches at an exceptional economy rate of 6.63.
