Star India the Official broadcaster of Indian Premier League 2020 has got some sigh of relief after signing three new co-presenters for IPL 13 UAE. Dream11, PhonePe & Amazon occupied the slots of co-presenting partnership for the live telecast of the cash-rich league held in the United Arab Emirates.
Amazon, PhonePe, and Dream11 have taken 3 out of 4 Co-Presenting partnership slots for the live telecast of IPL 2020 UAE. According to reports, Chinese Mobile Phone Company OPPO showed interest earlier to the 4th slot in the month of March, but they are yet to confirm the deal As boycott Chinese things trend is becoming stronger in India.
Star India, the official broadcasting rights holder of Indian Premier League 13 is yet to finalise sponsorship agreements with eight brands so far. Sources stated that while Amazon, Dream11 and PhonePe will come on board as co-presenting sponsors, other key sponsors include Mondelez India, ITC Foods, Polycab, MRF and Kamla Pasand.
After being contacted, Star India did not issue any statement on the sponsorship agreements but said, it has not cut ad rates.
Gautam Thakur, CEO of Star Sports said “Our pricing remains the same as what was planned for March 2020. The regional language channels continue to be our focus with the exciting content line-up being planned. We are confident of setting a new viewership record, with matches starting half-hour early, lesser doubleheaders, and the sheer size of the home-bound audience.” (Source: BusinessLine)
As per information available, Indian Board of Control of Cricket has made 618 Cr from the IPL 2019 Central Sponsorships.
In Comparison IPL 2020 Central Sponsorship values are currently down by 40%.
